The New Year’s period is always a great excuse to travel and spend a few days of vacation in a different destination. The Azores are undoubtedly one of the best destinations to travel to at this time of year, and the city of Ponta Delgada on São Miguel Island, one of the beautiful cities to visit, usually has very lively New Year’s Eve programs where joy and good cheer are never lacking.
One of the traditional events for a great start to the year is the Grand New Year’s Eve Ball at the Coliseu Micaelense, where well-known and lively bands usually perform.
At the City Gates, there will also be open-air concerts, starting around 10 pm until midnight, followed by a fireworks festival associated with the traditional popular celebration of New Year’s Eve at the City Gates.
